Fixed Asset Card – FA Subclass Classification

FA Subclass list is used to store the legal classification of fixed assets and their straight-line depreciation duration in years. The legal classification code has a maximum of 15 characters length, and the standard length is 10 characters. So, an adjustment was needed to increase the FA Subclass Code dimension.

Note

An additional field was needed for depreciation years. This field is used for information purposes only. It does not affect the number of depreciation years from FA Depreciation Book.

To access the FA Subclasses page, use the Tell me icon and search for FA Subclasses Arggo.

Add a new FA Subclass:

1. Enter a code of maximum 15 characters in the Code field;
2. Add a description of maximum 250 characters in the Name field;
3. Add a text of maximum 30 characters representing the depreciation suggested period for fixed assets having this subclass, in the Years field.

To associate a subclass to a fixed asset, open a Fixed Asset Card by using the Tell me icon to search for Fixed Assets and in the General tab -> FA Subclass Code RO, add the desired value from the dropdown arrow.

Note

When you update the value in the FA Subclass Code RO on the Fixed Asset Card, the Depreciating Ending Date will not be modified.
